Sakaja Joins ODM Ahead of 2027 Nairobi Governor Election

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has joined the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) as he seeks a second term in the 2027 General Election.

Sakaja, who previously belonged to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), made the switch at ODM's headquarters, Chungwa House, where he was welcomed by party leaders.

Sakaja stated that he would bring his experience and the support of young people to help advance ODM's interests ahead of the polls.

Several other politicians have expressed interest in the Nairobi governorship, including Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili, Kasarani MP Ronald Karauri, and Embakasi North MP James Gakuya.
