Kenya Requests Lifting of Travel Restrictions by Saudi Arabia and Kuwait

Kenya has requested Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to review and lift travel restrictions imposed on Kenyan travelers. The restrictions were put in place following recent reported Ebola cases in the country.

Senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs met with representatives from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to express concern over the decision to suspend arrivals. Kenya has contained the outbreak, with no new cases reported since October 19, 2026.

The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia and the Chargé d’Affaires of Kuwait agreed to convey Kenya's concerns to their respective governments and coordinate technical meetings between health authorities.
